Desert Hearts Microfest: A Macrodose of Vibe
Desert Hearts did it smaller this time, only 500 people, and it felt like summer camp with all the homies. A sunset slot over the Deloro Valley.
Desert Hearts was a blast! The guys did it smaller this time, only 500 people and it felt like a dope Summer Camp with all the homies! Got to watch DJ Minx, Holographic and Doc Martin and more throw down. The Desert Hearts crew have built up a dope community of lovely humans. So many people recognized me and gave me props, trinkets and lots of love. Having just traveled from Medellin and after pouring a week's worth of all nighters in the studio in Baltimore I was definitely feeling drained but the energy got me feeling so joyful when it came time for me to play.

The guys hooked me up with a perfect Sunset slot at the Vista stage. And what a vista, overlooking the beautiful Deloro Valley. I did my thing, spinning some of my favs from Nick Monaco and Louie Vega. As the crowd filled in, I began singing some old and new jams of my own, playing guitar over a cover of Only You and ripping a solo over my newest release with Plaisance, Baby Don't Call.

The night fell and I took the crowd down the rabbit hole with jams from Kai Alce, Wh0, Us Two, Harry Romero and Musclecars, kicking off the DJ moment with my favorite new blend: Bmore Club jam Rump by Rod Lee into Ibiza classic Joys by Roberto Surace. From there, back into singing and rapping with my tune with Moody Jones, Shake and Tiktok fav I Do What I Do, an afro leaning remix by Guri and Eider that bumps much harder (remix pack out now!). Finally to the climax with DH fav Bow Wow after jamming on guitar over some Butch jams - our tune Get High With You and a Downstream remix from him that samples Roy Ayers classic Running Away.

Mikey Lion came on stage for our jam with Marbs, This Is The Place and then I hit some Latin tinged classics: DJ Fuzil on a Baile Funk remix of Mochakk's Da Fonk for a buckwild moment, Bingo Bango by Basement Jaxx and Pasilda by Afro Medusa to welcome in the Toytonics crew playing after.
Finally back to regular after a week in bed! Many thanks to the Desert Hearts and Deloro Valley community. The team had arrived days earlier to get everything up and running and make sure everything went smoothly for us artists and festival goers alike. The hardwork and love really showed! Grateful for another weekend with Desert Hearts. Until next time, give it life.
